Welcome to My Girl's Cake Shop! If you need a cake for a special event, We Can Bake It!

We also make a variety of special sweets and treats. Private consultations and tastings are available by appointment only. With a grandmother that loved to cook and bake, Katie was inspired at an early age to get into the kitchen to see what she could create. One of Katie's fondest memories was learning how to make peanut brittle from her grandmother. It has now become a Christmas tradition.

Katie started decorating cakes in 2006 and obtained a job at the local grocery store bakery as a cake decorator. Feeling she wanted more education she searched and found the L'Art du Gateau program at The French Pastry School of Chicago. She then left the quad city area for 16 weeks to obtain her certificate. She has earned herself the title of Cake Artist and specializes in fondant, gumpaste flowers, 3D sculpted cakes, and sugar/chocolate showpieces.
